SCHOOLROYAL COLLEGE OF ART

TIMELINEFall 2024
DESCRIPTIONI was sponsored to attend the Royal College of Art by Snap Inc. I’ve had an interest in textiles for many years but it has never been the focus of my studies. This was the perfect opportunity to pursue this Interest and see what comes of It.

During my first semester, I created a series of baskets made from found materials. These Included shipping straps found at an Industrial estate, a small bit of paper twine, transparent tubing, and even an ethernet cable.

This work seeks to shine a light on sustainable practices through traditional crafts. Using ancient basket weaving techniques, these vessels became artifacts of today. The materials used reflect what is readily available on the streets and in scrap piles.
